Was born in 1883 at Black Rock , South Australia, which is in themid-north, just below the South Flinders Ranges. Black Rock has had aname change, it is now called ROSEWATER. Her family is detailed inBarbara EMBERSON family book, "OURS, YOURS, THE PERRY FAMILY HISTORY -Published 1997. However, it would be nice if more personal history wasmade available for this file by one of her children.
Francis father, William CLIFFORD was a labourer at the time of her birth.he had 13 children in two marriages. He was 25 years old at the time ofhis first marriage and 36 years old at his second marriage.In 1848, whenWilliam married Mary Matilda MOORE, his father Robert was a shepherd. IN1883 Robert was a sawyer.
Robert married Charlotte PERRY when 22 years old (1845) in the Church ofEngland and Ireland, Adelaide.
Mary father, James Alexander MOORE was also a shepherd in 1856 when Marywas born.
Mary died in 1884 when she was 26 yearsold.

Stephen Walter Clifford (1875-1968)
Lived at Sofala N.S.W. and in later years moved in to the Macquarie Nursing Home in Russel St. Bathurst, where he passed away.

At the time of Willam Thomas Clifford marriage his father Robert was a shepherd. Marriage Certificate 58/58891 District of Nuoringa, Sth Australia indicated that William was a bachelor and of age whilst Matilda Mary was a spinster and under age. The marriage was celebrated at theWesleyan Chapel, North Belalie. Witnesses at the wedding were James Alexander Moore, Station Store Keeper of Mananara and John White, Farmer of Belalie. They lived at Mananara.
After his second marriage to Catherine Mc Donald he worked as a fencing contractor around the N.S.W. and Sth. Australian borders.
The Death Cert. No. 58879 of William advised that he was 81 yrs when he died, a Labourer, 180 Mc Culloch St. Broken Hill. The Certificate indicated that he had a Rodent Ulcer on his face, and a heart failure. He was buried in the Salvation Army Section of the Methodist Cemetery, Broken Hill.
William had at least 5 children in his first marriage and 3 living and 4females deceased in his second.
