Upon arrival inNewcastle they went to live with brother John Tiplady who was a publicanin Lambton. Harriet loved John William dearly and treated him like one ofher own children, she made special leg braces for him, she looked afterhim until he was 16yrs when he went to live with his Hodgson relatives inNew Zealand. He never wrote nor was heard of again.William lived inWilliam St. Jesmond, and lived there most of his life, William St. wasnamed after him.
