County of Charlotte and State of Virginia of the second part witnesseth that the parties of the first part for and in consideration of the just and full sum of one dollar to them in hand paid by the said John W. Featherstone the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, they the parties of the first part have given, granted, bargained, sold and conveyed and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain sell and convey unto the said John W. Featherstone his heirs and assigns all their undivided interest a certain tract & parcel of land conveyed to them by their father Hezekiah Featherstone dec'd which deed was recorded in the clerk's office of the county court of Charlotte the 4th day of June 1827. To have and to hold their said undivided interest as aforesaid together with all and singular the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining unto him the said Jno. W. Featherstone his heirs and assigns forever, to the only proper use and behalf of him the said Jno. W. Featherstone his heirs and assigns forever, and they the parties of the first part do each for himself or herself and their heirs covenant and agree to and with the said John W. Featherstone his heirs &c to warrant and forever defend a good and lawful right and title to their undivided interest as aforesaid unto him the said John W. Featherstone and to his heirs and assigns forever free from the claim and demand of them and their heirs and of all and every person or persons whomsoever. In witness whereof the parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first herein written.

October 1836, personally appeared before us in our county aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed and desired us to certify the said acknowledgment to the clerk of the county court of Charlotte in order that the said deed may be recorded. Given under our hands and seals this 10th day of October 1836.
