copied by me from a copy of a copy of a Bible record that at one time was in the
possession of Sam Featherstone, who was a cousin of my great- grandfather, John
G. Featherstone, son of Edward Featherstone and his wife Mary (Hibbitt)
Featherstone. I remember my grandmother 'loaning this Bible' to the said
Featherstone; I do not remember any of the names in Bible."

New Orleans, LA (from a wound received during one of the skirmishes before the
Battle of New Orleans - only one of seven American men killed in that War). On
Wednesday evening, 23 Jan 1799 Mecklenburg Co., VA, Henry, Jr., m. his 1st
cousin Nancy Marshall - d/o Francis Marshall, Jr./Phoebe Hatcher of Mecklenburg
Co., VA. Nancy was b. 5 Aug 1775 VA, d. 30 Oct 1853 Waldron, Scott Co., AR, bur.
possibly Turman Cem. northeast of Waldron. In 1926. a grandson Richard Henry
Featherston - aged 79y wrote: "Grandma Featherston was buried on a ridge North
east of Waldron. I can remember about her dying & remember when they buried her
- but don't remember the year, or time of year." Henry, Jr.'s Honorable
Discharge is dated four days after his death. His army papers list his highest
rank as "Sergeant" and show he was enrolled in the 2nd Division of the TN
Militia. His will was written 6 Nov 1814 and proven 4 Aug 1815 at Lincoln Co.,
TN. In it, he names his two sons and wife, mentions "daughters," and names his
wife and brother Edward his executors. He requested "that his estate be kept
together to raise the children in a decent manner and to educate them..." Nancy
and children migrated to Crawford Co., AR area which became Scott Co., AR by
1830. On 3 May 1851, Scott Co., AR, she filed a bounty land claim on the War of
1812 service of Henry, Jr., for 80 acres of bounty land which was approved. She
