This section of our site is set up in frames. This particular frame has three pages Top, Middle and Bottom. This means that what you see in your browser is actually three individual pages all at the same time. With the ability to change the way different pages are viewed but keeping the overall layout the same.

Top This contains links to other parts of the site |

Middle This contains most of the navigation links to move between pages displayed in the Bottom, frame. Also contains links which change this middle page, to allow further navigation into the bottom page. Contains at first load |

Bottom This contains most of the information and you are able to scroll up and down using the side bars, it also contains some links which change pages just in this window |
The Top page remains constant throughout the changes you select until you leave the Featherston Findings section of the site. By clicking on the "Home" or "Indexes" links, Home returns you to the main frame of the Society Page, and Index to the Mainframe of the Index part of our site.
The pages within the frame lay from top to bottom. The Middle page is the navigation aid for the Featherston Findings pages.
The first page in the middle window when you first load the page, contains the Main Volume index.
Clicking on the various volume numbers brings up a new middle frame page, containing the navigation for that particular volume. Each volume has one of these individual volume navigation pages. From the individual volume navigation pages you can go to either individual pages, or to a surname index for the volume you have in the navigation window.
These pages are viewed in the
bottom frame page, you can step through the
pages of each volume using the links on each individual page or by using
the individual links to each page in the individual volume
index which sits in the
middle frame page until you move back to the
main volume index.
Links are provided to each volume's index, forward pages, those numbered pages
followed by the letter "a" are the information about Featherston Findings
provided in each volume.
The name index does not contain links to individual names but you can use the navigation in each individual volume index to find the page which is listed along side each name in the individual volume indexes. Each individual volume index has a return link to the Main Volume Index
Links to the every name index are found on the Main Volume Index navigation page in the middle frame page.. This brings up a new middle frame page. Which when complete will contain links to both Featherstone variants contained within Featherston Findings, and all the other surnames, each name index page will have links from each name to the page within the volume containing that name.
Each individual has a page and volume reference along side their name, in some cases they might have more than one page reference in each volume. So the first numbers refer to the page which the individual is on and the last number is the volume which contains that/those pages.
Until all the links are made and there are some 16,000 to do which will take a while, you can click on the "Volumes" link in the every name index navigation page in the middle page frame, this will leave the individual you have found in the bottom frame page, you can then go to the volume mentioned in the index, and navigate to the correct page. using the individual volume indexes. This will replace the individual page within the bottom frame page with the page you have chosen.
