John Parkinson of Woodgates1 (M)

     John Parkinson of Woodgates father of Canon Richard Parkinson who wrote "The Old Church Clock", several pieces of Poetry and was later principal of St Bees College. where he is buried with an impressive tomb. A lage portrait also exists.1 He was born in 1758.1 He was the son of Richard Parkinson of Woodgates & Blindhurst and Catherine Parkinson.1 John Parkinson of Woodgates died on 28 July 1840.1 He was buried after 28 July 1840 at Chipping, Lancashire, England.2
