This is the last will and testament of me Dame Mary Ann Fetherstonhaugh of Uppark in the county of Sussex widow I give and bequeath to my sister Louisa the wife of Richard King Peirce? Now of 16 Norland Road Notting Hill Middlesex the sum of Twelve thousand pounds sterling for her sole and separate use and benefit and free disposal I give and bequeath to Joseph Weaver valet? to my late husband Sir Henry Fetherstonhaugh Baronet at the time of his death and for many years previously the sum of ten thousand pounds sterling I give and bequeath to the treasurer for the time being of the Institution called the West Sussex East Hampshire and Chichester Infirmary and Dispensary the sum of four thousand pounds sterling to be considered as the joint offering of my late husband Sir Henry Fetherstonhaugh Baronet and myself upon trust to be invested in such manner and the annual produce or dividends thereof applied in such way as the Committee of Management thereof shall think fit and I declare that the receipt of the treasurer for the time being of the said Institution shall be a sufficient discharge to my executrix for this legacy I give and bequeath to the Vicar and Churchwardens of Harting in the said County of Sussex as trustees for the time being of the Parochial School of Harting the sum of one thousand pounds sterling upon trust to invest the same and apply the interest thereof for the benefit of the said Parochial School in such manner as the committee of Management thereof for the time being shall think fit so long as such school shall be kept up or continued but if from any cause it should ever be closed or discontinued my will is that the said annual produce or dividends of the said sum so last bequeathed as aforesaid shall still be applied so far as it will go in or towards the education of the children of the poor of the said parish of Harting of whatever religious denomination at the discretion of such Vicar and Churchwardens and I declare that he receipt of the said Vicar and Churchwardens shall be a sufficient discharge to my executrix for the said last mentioned legacy and I direct that all the gifts to charitable purposes made by this my will or any codicil hereto shall be paid exclusively out of such part of my personal estate as the law permits to be so appropriated and in preference to all other charges thereout And subject to the payment of my funeral and testamentary expenses and the above mentioned legacies and to all and every other legacy and legacies which I may at any time hereinafter bequeathed by any codicil or codicils hereto but not so as to charge legacies for charitable purposes otherwise than as aforesaid I give devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my sister Frances Bullock of Uppark in the county of Sussex her heirs executors and administrators for her own absolute use and benefit and I hereby appont my said sister Frances Bullock of Uppark sole Executrix of this my will and I hereby revoke all former and other wills and testamentary writings by me heretofore made and I declare this to be my last will and testament In witness whereof I the said Dame Mary Ann Fetherstonhaugh the testatrix have to this my last will and testament written on four pages of paper set my hand this fourteenth day of December in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty three Mary Ann Fetherstonhaugh Signed acknowledged and declared by the above named Dame Mary Ann Fetherstonhaugh the testatrix as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us present at the same time and who in her presence at her request and in presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses Chs Scrase Dickens J.P.
