497 Frederick Charles Featherstone 1880 Surrey
This is the last will of me Frederick Charles Featherstone of 44 Roupell Street Lambeth in the county of Surrey Engineer I appoint my dear wife Eliza Featherstone and my son Charles Thomas Featherstone Executors and Trustees of this my will I give to my said wife fifty pounds for her immediate purposes and I give to my said trustees all the remainder of my estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever both real and personal upon trust either to continue the same in such state and condition as the same may be in at the time of my decease or when and in such manner as they shall think fit [but during the life of my said wife not without her written consent ]to sell get in and convert the same into money and upon further trust to invest the proceeds arising from such sale and conversion and any other moneys forming part of my estate which may come to their hands in the names of my trustees or under their legal control in or upon Government stocks or funds of Great Britain or Bank or East India Stock or Metropolitan [Board of Works ] Stock or Real or Leasehold securities in England or Wales or Bonds Stocks or securities of any Foreign or Colonial Government or the debentures or debenture stock or mortgages or bonds Guaranteed or Preference Shares or Stock of any company in Great Britain incorporated by or under the provisions of any Act of Parliament and at the time of investment paying a dividend on its ordinary shares or capital stock or the ordinary stock of any Railway or other Company in the East Indies the principal of or a minimum rate of dividend in which is guaranteed by the English or India Governments with power from time to time to vary and transpose such investments into or for any other or others of a like nature and upon further trust to permit and empower my said wife to have the sole use control and enjoyment and an absolute power of disposal if she shall think fit during her life of all my furniture and effects of every description except money and securities for money and title deeds and also to permit and empower her to receive the annual income of such part of my estate and effects as may for the time being yield income [the rents and profits of unsold real and leasehold property being considered as income for the purposes of this trust] during her life and from and after her death as to so much of the said furniture and effects [if any] as may not have been worn out or disposed of by her in her lifetime and as to as well the capital as the future income of the remainder of my estate and effects upon trust for my two sons Frederick William Featherstone and Charles Thomas Featherstone in equal shares or in case of the death of either of them the share which he if living would have taken shall belong to and I accordingly give the same to his executors or administrators as part of his general estate I expressly empower my trustees to let and manage my real and leasehold property until sold and to expend in case they should deem it advisable so to do any part of my general estate in repairing or improving such real and leasehold property or any parts thereof As witnesses my hand this thirty first day of July one thousand eight hundred and eighty FC Featherstone signed by the testator Frederick Charles Featherstone in our presence and witnessed and subscribed by us in his presence Joseph Harris 16 Huntingdon Street Caledonian Road Middx gentm GI Russell 70 Herne Hill Road Camberwell Surrey Gentm
