This is the last will and testament of me John George Featherstone of 15 Larkspur Terrace Newcastle-upon-Tyne Building Society Cashier made this seventeenth day of June one thousand nine hundred and nine I appoint my daughter Rose executrix and my son-in-law A Stanley Chesterton of 377 Elswick Road Draper executor of this my will and trustees for the purposes hereinafter expressed I give and bequeath the sum of five pounds to my daughter Rose to purchase a momento or keepsake she being otherwise provided for I give devise appoint and bequeath all my estate both real and personal unto my trustees upon trust for my children [other than my daughter Rose] in equal shares share and share alike My will and desire is that my trustees should call in the amount and convert into money such part of my said estate and effects as shall not consist of ready money at such times in such manner and subject to such conditions as they may in their uncontrolled discretion think fit J Geo Featherstone

On the 4th day of April 1919 probate of this will was granted at Newcastle upon Tyne to Alfred Stanley Chesterton one of the executors
Be it known that John George Featherstone of 15 Larkspur Terrace Newcastle upon Tyne Corporation Clerk who at the time of his death had a fixed place of abode at 15 Larkspur Terrace aforesaid within the district of the County of Northumberland died on the first day of March 1919 at 15 Larkspur Terrace aforesaid And be it further known that at the date hereunder written the last will and testament of the said deceased was proved and registered in the District Probate Registry of His Majesty’s High Court of Justice at Newcastle upon Tyne and that administration of all the estate which by law devolves to and vests in the personal representative of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to Alfred Stanley Chesterton of 379 Elswick Road Newcastle upon Tyne Draper one of the executors named in the said will Power reserved of making the like Grant to the other executor named in the said will Dated the 4th day of April 1919 Gross Value of Estate £293-12-6 Nett value of Personal Estate £143-12-6
