This is the last will and testament of me Dinah Frances Featherstone of 2 Clarence Crescent Whitley Bay in the County of Northumberland I hereby revoke all wills and testamentary instruments heretofore by me made I appoint George Sculpher Laidler of 53 Grosvenor Drive Whitley Bay Northumberland to be executor of this my will I direct that I shall be buried in Whitley Bay New Cemetery arrangements to be at the discretion of my executor whom I authorize to have my grave suitably enclosed with marble kerb I give and bequeath to Mary Carr of 2 Clarence Crescent Whitley Bay my furniture and the sum of one hundred pounds if I should with her at the time of my decease If not then I authorize my executor to pay whatsoever amount he shall deem fit to whoever shall have care of me at the time of my decease to Robert Davies of 25 Yorkshire Street Shieldfield Newcastle upon Tyne the sum of twenty pounds To George Sculpher Laidler of 53 Grosvenor Drive Whitley Bay the sum of one hundred pounds and I give devise and bequeath all my real and personal property of what nature or kind soever not hereinbefore otherwise disposed of to my brothers William Miller Featherstone and Henry Dale Featherstone equally and absolutely and should either or both of my said brothers William miller Featherstone and Henry Dale Featherstone predecease me their shares to be taken by their children equally that is the share of my brother William miller Featherstone to be taken by his children equally or their successors and the share of my brother Henry Dale Featherstone to be taken by his daughter Ruth S Featherstone or her successors Witness my hand this 22nd day of June 1938 DF Featherstone

Be it known that Dinah Frances Featherstone of 2 Clarence Crescent Whitley Bay in the county of Northumberland Spinster died there on the 31st day of January 1942 and be it further known that at the date hereunder written the last will and testament [a copy whereof is hereunto annexed] of the said deceased was proved and registered in the District Probate Registry of His Majesty’s High Court of Justice at Newcastle –upon-Tyne and that Administration of all the Estate which by law devolves to and vests in the personal representative of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to George Sculpher Laidler of 53 Grosvenor Drive Whitley Bay aforesaid Chartered Accountant the sole executor named in the said will And it is hereby certified that an affidavit for Inland Revenue has been delivered wherein it is shewn that the gross value of the said estate in Great Britain [exclusive of what the said deceased may have been possessed of or entitled to as a trustee and not beneficially ] amounts to £744-4-5 and that the net value of the personal estate amounts to £533-5-10 And it is further certified that it appears by a Receipt signed by an Inland Revenue Officer on the said Affidavit that £142-1-10 on account of Estate Duty and Interest on such duty has been paid
