This is the last will and testament of me Albany Featherstonhaugh of Skippool within the township of Poulton le Fylde and County of Lancaster Cattle Dealer which I make and publish and declare in manner and form following. First I order and direct all my just debts funeral expenses and all charges of the Probate of this my will to be paid. I give and devise to my wife Esther for the term of her natural life or while she keeps my widow or unmarried the rents and profits arising from all my real and personal estate of whatsoever nature or kind to be paid to her by my executors hereinafter named. I give and devise to my son Henry Featherstonhaugh of Oswego United States America ------his heirs administrators and assigns one legacy or sum of one hundred pounds to be paid to him by my executors at the death of my said wife. It is my will and mind and I further direct my executors to retain sixty pounds and all interest then due out of the hundred pounds devised to my son Henry and pay the sixty pounds and interest to my nephew Henry Featherstonhaugh of Blackpool in the county aforesaid Butcher as and in liquidation of a debt contracted by my said son Henry Featherstonhaugh with my said nephew Henry Featherstonhaugh. After my wife’s death or marrying again I give and devise to my daughter Emma Fare of Preston and county aforesaid all the rents and profits arising from my real and personal estate for the term of her natural life to be paid to her by my executors at her decease. I give and devise to my two grandchildren Maria Featherstonhaugh and Louisa Featherstonhaugh of Ulverston and county aforesaid daughters of my son Albany Featherstonhaugh surgeon deceased their heirs administrators and assigns all my real and personal estate wheresoever and whatsoever share and share alike one the same as the other not as joint tenants but as tenants in common In case my daughter Emma Fare have any issue then. I give devise half of my real and personal estate to my two grandchildren Maria Featherstonhaugh Louisa Featherstonhaugh and to take the same as aforesaid and the other half of my real and personal estate to issue of my said daughter Emma Fare I constitute nominate and appoint William Askew of Thornton in the county aforesaid farmer and Thomas Bailey of the Trap in the Township at Carleton and county aforesaid yeoman Trustees and executors of this my will hoping they will see the trusts duly performed. I do hereby revoke and make void all former and other will or wills and codicils by me at any time heretofore made published or declared. In witness whereof I the said testator have hereunto set my hand and seal the thirteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight

Proved at Lancaster the twenty ninth day of March1871 by the Oaths of William Askew and Thomas Bailey the executors named in the will to whom administration was granted The testator Albany Featherstonhaugh was formerly of Skippool but late of Poulton le Fylde both in the county of Lancaster Cattle Dealer and died on the fourth day of March 1871 at Poulton le Fylde aforesaid

On the twenty ninth day of March 1871 the will of Albany Featherstonhaugh formerly of Skippool but late of Poulton le Fylde both in the county of Lancaster Cattle Dealer deceased who died on the 4th day of March 1871 at Poulton le Fylde aforesaid was proved in the District Registry attached to Her Majesty’s Court of Probate at Lancaster by the oath of William Askew of Thornton in the said county farmer and Thomas Bailey of the Trap in the township of Carleton in the said county yeoman the executors therein named they having been first sworn duly to administer
