 In the name of God Amen I Heneage Fetherston of Lassing brook ? in the parish of Standford le Hope in the county of Essex Bart being of sound and perfect memory [ blessed be god I do make this my last will and testament first I resign my soul and body into the hands of Almighty God my heavenly father and in sure hope of a joyful Resurrection to eternal life through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ my only Savior and Redeemer My body I commit to the earth to be buried in private but decent manner by my late dear wife at Standford le Hope aforesaid without any bondas ? or Trophy’s or any hired coaches through the streets other than such as accompanies the hearse throughout the journey from London to the place of Internment and for my worldly goods I dispose of them as followeth I will that all my debts funeral charges portions and legacies hereinafter named or in any codicil hereunto annexed to be truly and justly paid I give to everyone of my six daughters Katherine Elizabeth Dorothy Grace Mary and Rebecka fifteen hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to them within one year after my decease and until then interest for the same after the rate of five pounds in the hundred and I give to every one of my said daughters the respective sums of eight and twenty pounds Exchequer Annuities that I bought in their names at fourteen p cent ? for their respective lives and all tallies and orders? There unto belonging and I will that all arrears of my daughters allowances to the time of my death be paid them by my executors and I give to my son Henage five hundred pounds and I give to my son Thomas five hundred pounds to be paid them within one year after my decease and for the more sure payment of the several and wsper ? five portions of fifteen hundred apiece ? to every of my said daughters My will and meaning is that all my lands tenements and hereditaments in New Street in St Martin in the fields in the county of Middx and In St Johns Court in Cow Lane in the parish of St Sepulchers in London and in Aldersgate Street and Long Lane in the parish of St Botolph without Aldersgate in London and in New fish street ? in the parish of St Margaret in London And all that capital messuage or tenements in Limestreet in the parish of St Andrew Undershaft? In London and all those my woods and woodlands called Shuddon Grove Magis Hill Radly Grove and the houses and the Advowson of the Rectory of Standford le Hope aforesaid and the five cottages on Standford Green All which are situate and lying in Standford le Hope and Coringham in the said county of Essex shall stand charged and liable in the hands of my heir to make good the said fifteen hundred apiece to my said daughters And I will and appoint my heir [soon after my decease ] to sell so much of my said lands tenements and hereditaments that with my personal estate will raise sufficient money to pay the several and respective portions of fifteen hundred pounds apiece to my said daughters and the several legacies and charges herein mentioned Nevertheless my will and meaning is that such of my lands tenements and hereditaments or any part thereof that shall be at any time so sold by my heirs for the payment of the said fifteen hundred apiece to my said daughters in discharge or towards the payment or discharge of her or their respective  portions and paid to her or them accordingly [ testified under her or their respective hands and seals ] shall not be liable to make good any other portions or sums of money whatsoever And I give to every one of my said six daughters forty pounds for their present use and ten pounds apiece for mourning U give to my son Henage ten pounds and to his wife ten pounds for mourning I give to my son Thomas ten pounds and to his wife ten pounds for mourning I give to the honoble[honourable] my sister Elizabeth Bortio ten pounds to buy mourning I give to Edward Smith my coachman if living with me at the time of my death twenty pounds and to the rest of my servants then living with me for the space of one year half a years and I give to my son Henry two men that shall be then living with him the time of six months forty shillings apiece and I will that my executors shall for one whole year after my decease keep house and table of diet ? for my daughters and family at my charge and in my house at Bloomsbury in like manner as I did in my life time I will that my executor shall continue the payment of five pounds paid to the charity school shall and continue so long in being I give to the poor of Standford le Hope aforesaid ten pounds and to the poor of St Giles in the Fields ten pounds to be paid them my executor thinks hath the most need I give to my son Henry Fetherston and his heirs the surplusage of all my estate real and personal after payment of all the several legacies portions and charges herein mentioned other than such as are herein particularly disposed of and I do constitute and appoint my loving son and heir Henry Fetherston executor of this my last will and testament and I desire my said executor that he will not only see the said legacies and portions only and justly paid to my said children but also to assist them in all love and fondness? whenever there is occasion for his help and advice In witness whereof I have unto this my last will and testament contained in three sheets of paper with this present sheet set my hand and seal to each sheet the tenth day of May in the tenth year of the reign of out Sovereign Lady Queen Ann and in the year of our Lord God One thousand seven hundred and eleven H Fetherston Signed sealed published and declared by the within named Sr Heneage Fetherston the testator to be his last will and testament in the presence of us Richard Kentish George Richardson John Alline
