Fetherston [Henry] of London esquire – To be buried in the porch of S Ann Blackfryers beside his late wife. His leasehold messuage called the “Three Pigeons” in Paules churchyard to be held in trust for Heneage his son and Grace his daughter and the heirs of their respective bodies. Also to his said daughter two thousand pounds in money, all his plate, jewels, and linen in Mr Fulwells trunk, and his “quilted taffatie coverlett” To his nephew George Thomason his quarter part of the ship “the Phillip” Bequests to the poor of the parish of S Ann aforesaid , the poor of Bridewell, poor men and women of the Company of Stationers, &c. and to numerous relatives, friends and servants. Also to his daughter Grace he leaves tenements in High Holborn in lieu of her customary portion of his personal estate. His manors of hassingbrooke and Cabbournes in the parish of Stanford le Hope, co. Essex, his farm called “ Stewards” in Much Stanbridge, co Essex, lands and tenements in South Shoberry, East and West Tilbury, Hornedon on the Hill, Burstead, and Canewden in co Essex as well as in the precinct of Blackfryers, London in Beare Courte in the parish of S Andrew in the Wardrobe in Whitecrosse  Street in the parish of St Giles without Creplegate, in Sempringham Courte in S Sepulchre’s parish, and on Newfishstreete Hill and elsewhere in the realms of England and Ireland, except those already devised to his daughter he leaves to his executors for a term of four years in trust for the maintenance of his daughter payment of legacies, &c; the remainder to Heneage his son, on attaining the age of twenty-one years intail: remainder to his daughter Grace in tail; remainders over to his brother Edward for life and others

He the Lord will so cometh

 

All things come to pass, his holy name be blessed and praised for evermore Amen This eighth day of December in the year of Grace one thousand six hundred fifty and three 1653. I William Ffeverstone of Egerton in the County of Kent yeoman being sick in body yet of good and perfect memory thanks and praise be to Almighty God therefore doth make and ordain this night a will and testament in manner and form following. First I give and bequeath unto my three sons by my first wife [viz] William Sydney and Daniel ---- apiece of good english money to be paid unto them within one year following my decease Item I give and bequeath unto Sarah Feverstone my daughter by my first wife my dwelling house standing in the hall of my dwelling house, and one spitt and one pairs of potthanger and one ---- head bedstead standing in the small chamber and one ------ table and one feather pillow to be delivered unto her or her assigns within one month after my decease And I further give unto her one little piece of pewter which hath the letters of her upon the same This is the last will and testament of me the said William Feverstone for the giving and disposing of my tenements with appurtenances noted wherein  -- now lying in Egerton above named item I give and bequeath unto Atheny my loving wife the said tenement or messuage with the appurtenances   [she keeping the reparations thereof and making not willful stripping ] during the whole time of her natural life And after her decease I give and bequeath the said messuage or tenement unto John and Elizabeth my two children which I have by the said Atheny my wife equally to be divided between them and to their heirs and assigns forever The residue of all my goods and chattels [not before bequeathed I wholly give and bequeath unto the said Atheny my wife whom I --- be and ordained whole executrix of this my last will and testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal and published this as my last will and testament revoking and distroying? This will was proved at London the fifth day of February in the year of our Lord God [English Stile] One thousand and six hundred fifty and four before the judges for Probate of wills and granting of Administration lawfully and authorised on the oath of Atheny Feverstone the relict and solr executrix named in the said will To whom Administration of all and singular the goods chattels and debts of the said deceased was committed She being first by Domini sworn duly to administer

Cuthbert Featherstone of Chancery Lane in the parish of St Dunstan in the West near London Will dated 5th Feb 1613 Testator is possessed by leave for divers years to come of the messuage, garden sellers, sollars, and rooms thereto belonging in his own occupation also a messuage late in the occupation of William Herringe being parcell of the former tenement, with a piece of ground belonging thereto now enclosed and built on, in Chancery Lane held by the grant of Innocent Reade and Morris Evans made by John Goode Esq. And so conveyed by testator at the yearly rent of £6-4-0, also in certain houses in Frances Street and Brookes Yard near Lambert Hill in the parish of St Mary Somerset near to the Broken Wharf London by lease granted to the testator by the said John Goode Esq at the yearly rent of £20, gives all the premises to his wife Katherine for her life paying the rents and repairs, and after her death the [witnesses in --- soncesset] to son Henry Featherstone for the residue of the term, he paying to testators son Edward a yearly rent of £20, and after the death of the said Edward to pay to the child or children then living of the said Edward 20 marks yearly, and failing such to the child or children of testators daughter Mary The house testator lives in is given to son Ralph Featherston after the death of the said Katherine testators wife All household stuff plate pewter linen etc to wife and after her death two thirds to son Henry and the other third to son Edward Sons Ralph and Henry to be executors

Memorandum. Testators daughter Mary to enjoy the house in Chancery Lane for a year after the death of the said wife Katherine The said Ralph Featherstone in consideration of the premises in Chancery Lane to pay to Katherine Hutton daughter of testators son-in-law Francis Hutton deceased £20
